✿ HISTORY OF THE AURELIA
The breed was discovered in 2003 by a group of hikers passing through a forest. The first sighting was twin foals with their parents, huddled behind some foliage with rabbits, birds, and deer present. Despite the forest being dreary and brown from the autumn leaves, a bright patch of green grass and flowers had surrounded the family, creating an almost magical scene. the hikers were absolutely astounded, so in shock they couldn’t even snap a photo for proof of what they saw.
For years nobody believed them, people thought they were just messing around or seeing things, until in late 2007 someone else had spotted them too; this time with photographic evidence. The hikers saw the photos online and immediately recognised the two horses to be the twin foals they saw that one day in the forest. Ever since, researchers have been tracking them and finding out new information about them; this became their new favourite topic. They soon discovered variations in colours and patterns, genes that normal horses couldnt acquire. News spread and the public soon came up with theories about them. People believe that they’re magical beings, guardians of nature come to roam the grasslands and protect our planet with their wise souls. That they can communicate with nature, they can make the flowers bloom and the trees sway, the rain fall and the sun shine.

✿ APPEARANCE
Build
Delicate, thin and slender horses with an almost deer-like build, tucked stomach, long legs and small hooves.
Head
Either a straight nose profile or a slightly dished nose.
Height
Aurelia can range from 12hh to 17hh.
Tail
The tailbone extends slightly for an elegant look and is very flexible. It can be held down, raised, or in a neutral position.
Coat
Aurelia have extremely short fur for most of the year. During winter they grow a thick coat across the entire body to protect their delicate build from harsh weather.
✿ TEMPERAMENT
Mares & Stallions
Mares are naturally more skittish and shy, while stallions are generally confident and bold and often act as protectors. Abnormalities are common, so this is not a strict rule.
Wild Herds
Aurelia are usually found wild in small herds, although humans have been taming and breeding them for many years.
Domestic Horses
Domestic Aurelia have been known to excel in English riding disciplines, particularly dressage, liberty, trick riding and endurance thanks to their graceful movement and increased stamina.
Interaction with Humans
Wild Aurelia are generally friendly toward humans due to frequent interaction around their habitats. They rarely allow people close enough to touch them, but they are naturally curious and will not usually attack or flee unless provoked.
Other Animals
Aurelia naturally get along well with other animals, and wild herds are often found alongside critter companions.
